Due to the construction work that will be taking place next to the courts the tournament has been postponed. A new date will be announced when the schedule is worked out.

The CBCA is pleased to announce the 2024 4th of July BBQ & Bags Cornhole Tournament. This tournament honors Clayton Perry, a long time and highly respected manager at Skipolini's in Clayton, who passed away way too young after a spirited battle with cancer. In 2018, when the bocce courts were shut down for construction, Clayton started a cornhole league on the Skipolini's patio. It was an instant hit. Clayton was a huge fan and supporter of bocce and cornhole. We honor his memory in a way he would most enjoy - getting together and having fun.

This is an open tournament, meaning that players do not have to be members of CBCA or the Clayton Cornhole or Bocce Leagues.

Clayton Perry Memorial Cornhole Tournament
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024
Time: 11:30am check-in, 12:30pm - 6:00pm match play
Location: Ipsen Family Bocce Park, 6000 Main Street, Clayton, CA (adjacent to Skipolini's Pizza)
Format:
  • Each team may have from 2 to 4 players. There will be a maximum of 32 teams.
  • All games are doubles: one player from each team at each end.
  • For preliminary play teams will be randomly divided into two groups of sixteen teams. Each team will play four preliminary matches within their group. The preliminary rounds will use Swiss scoring and scheduling, which takes into account win/lose and point differential. Preliminary round matches will be a single game to 21, with a 20 minute time limit.
  • After the preliminary rounds are completed, teams in each group will be ranked based on cumulative victory points. The top four teams in each group will advance to the Gold Division playoff. The 5th-8th place teams in each group will advance to the Silver Division playoff.
  • The Gold and Silver playoffs will be single elimination seeded brackets. Playoff matches will be best two of three games, with each game to 21 points, 8 inning (16 round) limit.
Bags: Players may bring their own ACL regulation bags. Bags will be provided to players who do not bring their own.
Food & Drink: We will have a traditional 4th of July BBQ: Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans. Each team entry includes two BBQ tickets. Spectators and additional players may purchase BBQ tickets for $15 each.

Players and spectators may also bring their own food and drinks, including alcohol.
Entry Fee: $100 per team, includes two BBQ lunch tickets. Payment (credit card or PayPal) is required to complete registration.

Gold: 1st place: $600
2nd place: $400
3rd place: $300
Silver: 1st place: $300
2nd place: $200
3rd place: $120
